There are two modes of movement
Solo jump and Fleetwide simultaneous jump right click to swich modes, once switched your fleet will jump in formation to the new gravity well. Moving en masse allows you to engage enemy fleets without having your ships killed as they trickle in, but be warned it will slow down your jump times 10-30%.
