The Pirate Rogue is the Pirate counterpart to the Cobalt Light Frigate of the TEC.
Overview[]
It has improved hull strength over its TEC counterpart, quite probably due to the altogether more aggressive and combative nature of both the ship and its owners. Unlike Cobalts, the pirate rogue uses AutoCannons instead of lasers, with one on the small "leg" at the bottom, the other in the usual spot.
Tactics[]
Using the Pirate Rogue[]
This ship serves mostly as a distraction, diverting attention away from Cutthroats. It is very beefy and does modest damage, and although Pirate Rogues gain the Sabotage Reactor ability of the Cobalt Light Frigate should it be researched by the player, the limitation of the ability in that it only targets Frigates and Structures make the Pirate Rogue of little utility. However, the high maximum hull points of the Pirate Rogue makes it a very useful tool as means of repairing Corsev Battlecruisers with their Salvage Operations ability.
Fighting the Pirate Rogue[]
Pirate Rogues are rare inside pirate bases as they are in small numbers. However, they are always seen around gas giants and sometimes during raids.
