The Solanus Adjudicator is the Advent's Anti-Structure Cruiser added in the Entrenchment micro-expansion.
Official Description: The Solanus Adjudicator is perhaps one of the strangest weapons in the Advent arsenal in terms of appearance. Requiring very little crew, the Solanus brings devastation to enemy starbases and structures through its powerful, energized plasma cannon. In fact, most of the Solanus is dedicated to its sole weapon, giving it a surprising rate of fire.
Overview[]
Equipped with multiple plasma-launching arrays, the Adjudicator is capable of hitting up to 4 targets at a time. When fully upgraded, a group of Adjudicators are able to bring the Unity's wrath to all who stand in their way.
Be sure to keep them adequately protected, however, as they are completely defenseless against ships and fighters.
Tactics[]
The greatest weakness of the Adjudicator is its exceptionally high price and relative fragility, making it cost-prohibitive if the enemy has large numbers of fighters or enough defensive frigates. Another weakness is the weak damage output against single targets. While an Ogrov Torpedo Cruiser can take out a target and move on to the next, killing 5 in rapid succession, a Solanus will take longer to kill all 5, and will take a very long time to kill a starbase compared to a similar number of Ogrovs.
The Solanus Adjudicator can be used as minesweepers, using Seeker Vessels to decloak the mines, while the Adjudicator can attack every decloaked mine simultaneously. As stated by the developers, this ship is most effective against large numbers of concentrated defensive structures, especially hangars and defense platforms - the kind of defenses prevalent before Entrenchment and the addition of starbases - but first make sure you have enough Adjudicators to wipe them out before the enemy fleet wipes your Adjudicators out.
Trivia[]
- The ships are often called "Starfish" by the multiplayer community due to their appearance
- The developers themselves call them "LobberFish" in reference to Ogrov, the "Lobber"
